Qld: Homeless helpline overwhelmed with calls
BRISBANE, Feb 22 AAP - A free Queensland government telephone service that helps homeless
people find shelter and food has received more than 5,000 calls since starting in April
last year.
Communities Minister Warren Pitt said the Christmas/New Year period was particularly
busy, with the service receiving 339 calls in early January alone.
