SOGGY socks, squelching shoes, sodden clothing and streaming hair.
This was the state in which thousands of Discovery Cape Times Big Walk participants arrived at the finish line, St George's Grammar School, in Mowbray.
But these uncomfortable conditions failed to dampen their spirits.
"It's better this way with the rain because I would've got too hot if it were all sunny," Augustine Methuko said.
Even though she was far from the 10km walk's halfway mark, Methuko joked that she was too tired even to talk.
