No problems with inoculations reported, No bad reactions to smallpox vaccine reported in state

While a total of 131 West Virginians have received the smallpoxvaccine, none have exhibited medical problems as a result.

However, nationwide federal health officials are investigating thecases of three health care workers who became ill after getting theshot. It appears that only one of them, a 39-year-old Florida nurse,had a reaction to the vaccine.

They are the first reported injuries in the month-old vaccinationprogram. So far, 7,354 people have received the shot in 38 states,the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports.
