TAS: Inquiry opens into kite boarding death

HOBART, Dec 2 AAP - A coronial investigation will open today into the death of a 46-year-old
Tasmanian man in a kite-surfing accident near Hobart.

Tasmania Police said the man died from injuries about 4.15pm yesterday at Long Point
Beach, Sandy Bay.

It is believed the man crashed onto the shore when he lost control of his kite.

Police said ambulance officers treated the man at the scene, but he died of multiple injuries.

The incident follows a death of an east coast man in a paragliding accident in the
Tasmanian Midlands on Saturday.
